I work remotely for a small company based in New York as a presentation designer, along with my team in our local office.
Around May or June 2026, when AI was developing rapidly, my friend shared his idea with me: creating a web-based application to track our work, so we could easily see how many projects we’ve completed this month or this year.
The story started when my friend got this idea and asked ChatGPT to build a sample user interface in HTML. Knowing that I could develop websites using HTML and PHP, he shared his concept with me. I was really impressed by his idea because it was truly original and had never crossed my mind before.
I chose Laravel for this project because I had prior experience with PHP. I had worked on WordPress themes and plugins, as well as Laravel projects, before AI became popular. However, with the rise of AI, I decided to try Gemini to help me generate code for this project. I didn’t ask Gemini to generate everything at once; instead, I did it feature by feature. Basically, I coded with the help of AI, so I still fully understood what I was doing and what I wanted to achieve.
I’m really happy because AI helps me work faster and can explain the code it provides.
